Bones (originally “Th@ Kid”) is a rapper from Michigan who moved to L.A in 2011 to pursue a career in music.

Below are his official mixtapes, collabs, and related albums, including releases from the surrenderdorothy side-project with producer Greaf among others. Bones considers Youngdumbfuck (2012) his first official release, which is where this discography begins...officially.

That said, we're actively searching for Bones's earlier releases, and have listed the ones we've found below.

Sun City Girls - The Multiple Hallucinations of an Assassin (1987)

A description from Sun City Girl's official discography:
"Exotica with a capital X using two electric guitars and drums."

Consisting of outtakes from "Torch of the Mystics" (a widely considered Sun City Girls masterpiece), "The Multiple Hallucinations of an Assassin" was originally released on cassette in 1987. Available for the first time on YouTube from Dad's Theme.

The Go Team - Bikini Twilight (1989)

The Go Team was a short-lived 80's collaboration between Calvin Johnson and Tobi Vail (of Beat Happening and Bikini Kill renown, respectively). The band's output consisted of only a few releases: three cassette EP's released in '87, '88, and '89, and nine 7" singles put out as part of a monthly series for K Records in 1989, each one experimenting with different styles and collaborators.

This particular cut is from the July 1989 7" release and features Kurt Cobain on guitar, but seems to be relatively unknown in that regard (Cobain was also dating Vail at the time). There are two guitars on the track -- one grimey and one with more shine. I'll let you guess which one is Kurt.

Nirvana - School (Rhino Records 6/23/89)

This is "School" from an early Nirvana show at Rhino Records in Westwood, CA, just eight days after the release of their debut LP "Bleach" in June 1989.

The performance features Chad Channing on drums and Jason Everman, a temporary second guitarist whose playing wouldn't be featured on any Nirvana releases despite being pictured on the cover of Bleach and paying for most of the cost of recording it (reportedly spotting the band $500 of the ~$600 it cost them).

Kurt's vocal performance is particularly amazing and unrestrained here, especially during the "no recess" refrain of the chorus. In about two and a half year's time these guys would make it big with Nevermind.

The full 35-minute, 11-song performance is available as a playlist on YouTube here and comes highly recommended.

Alex Chilton - Dusted in Memphis (and Elsewhere) [1980] [Bootleg]

Description taken from a review on rateyourmusic.com:

"This quite legendary bootleg bridges the gap between Sister Lovers and Like Flies On Sherbert. Imo this is miles better than Bach's Bottom and most Big Star fans might prefer it to Sherbert itself. It contains the 1976 Elektra demo with some songs (like Window's Motel, She Might Look My Way) that might be regarded amongst Big Star's finest if they would have found a proper release."

Boards of Canada - A Few Old Tunes (1996)

This cassette, "A Few Old Tunes", was released sometime around 1996 and spans 30 tracks across two sides. Like many of BoC's early releases, legend has it only a few copies were given out among family and friends, and very few exist in the wild today.

Thankfully, a few high quality rips have surfaced in the last decade or so, and the rip I have below is the highest quality that is available as of this posting - from http://rareboc.ax.lt/ - a great BoC resource.

It should be noted that the download sounds considerably better than the YouTube video above, although you can still get the basic gist from it.

In our opinion this is one of the better BoC releases and required listening for fans of the group.
